Butterworth Barlow joins forces with North West accountancy firm Suzanne Hill & Co

Merseyside-based accountancy firm Butterworth Barlow is joining forces with Suzanne Hill & Co, a highly regarded chartered accountancy practice near Chester, with the two firms set to merge.

The merger, which will take effect on 1 April 2025, will see Suzanne Hill & Co fully incorporated into Butterworth Barlow’s existing practice to ensure existing clients have access to a wide range of tax and accountancy services.

Suzanne Hill, director at Suzanne Hill & Co, will continue working with Butterworth Barlow as a consultant, while her long-standing team member, Sally Perry, will also join the firm to support its growth.

The Chester office will remain open ensuring stability for clients and expanding Butterworth Barlow’s reach in the region.

Clients, particularly those in the medical sector and small limited companies, will gain access to the expertise and additional services from the larger practice, while benefitting from the same high standards of service that they already receive.

Barry Barlow, A Partner at Butterworth Barlow, said: “This merger is an exciting step forward for us. Suzanne has built a fantastic reputation, particularly with medical practitioners, and we’re thrilled to bring her expertise to our team.

“We look forward to officially welcoming her and Sally to the firm. Their experience and client-focused approach align perfectly with our values, and we can’t wait to work together to continue providing outstanding service to clients old and new.”

The merger strengthens Butterworth Barlow’s expertise, while maintaining the trusted relationships Suzanne Hill & Co has built over the years.

Suzanne added: “Joining forces with Butterworth Barlow feels like the right move for both my clients and my team.

“This merger allows us to offer enhanced resources and support while keeping the personalised service that our clients value. I’m excited for this new chapter and the opportunities it brings.”
