Joe pops the question in Anglesey!

Joe pops the question in Anglesey!

We have even more celebrations to share, as our accounts executive Joe Ahmed got down on one knee and proposed to his long-term girlfriend Ruby on Saturday, 13 June 2026.

Joe and Ruby have been together for nearly six years and, as it turns out, Joe had been planning this moment for quite some time.

He placed the order for the ring back in September, collected it in December and then spent months waiting for exactly the right moment.

When the time came, Joe really did pull out all the stops. The couple booked a night away in Anglesey and went for a walk to the iconic lighthouse on Newborough Beach.

What Ruby did not know was that Joe had arranged for a professional photographer to be positioned nearby, acting as a passer-by, ready to capture the moment he got down on one knee.

Ruby was completely shocked and, by all accounts, there were quite a few happy tears before she said yes!

But the surprises were not over. Joe had also quietly organised a surprise party for that evening, gathering all of their closest family and friends together. Ruby had been told it was simply a celebratory meal, so the reaction when she walked in was everything Joe had hoped for.

The planning, the attention to detail, the photographer, the party – we are all very impressed, Joe. Truly.

Everyone at Butterworth Barlow sends their warmest congratulations to Joe and Ruby. We wish you both all the happiness in the world!
